WHAT IS A GOLF CART SHADE BAND?

Windshield Tint Strip for Golf Carts

A Golf Cart Shade Band is a very practical product that improves safety. Backed with a Lifetime Warranty, if it were ever to bubble, peel, or wrinkle it will be replaced. Beware of your aftermarket screens. Damage caused by screens is not covered.

A Golf Cart Shade Band is made from a special type of film that is safe to apply and to remove (if that need would ever arise) from plastic golf cart windshields. In appearance, it is very much like window tinting for a car but unlike auto tinting, it can be removed and replaced without leaving any adhesive residue or damage to the windshield.

Regular auto tint can result in permanent damage to plastic because when it has to be removed, it will be virtually impossible to remove the adhesive without damaging the plastic. Plastics have a continuous out-gassing of chemicals plus the expansion and contraction of plastic can create bubbles.

What to expect after the Golf Cart Shade Band has been installed.

1. Depending on the time of year, the shade band could take a few days for the moisture to evaporate.

2. The shade band will not go to the very edge or to the very top of the windshield. Most shade bands are 6" tall. The height of the shade band can be modified for taller or shorter people.

3. Once the shade band has dried, it is common to have little white, tiny bubbles. This is normal and will not affect the life of the shade band. These little white specks are contaminants that are either in the water I use to apply them with, dust particles in the air, and contaminants that I cannot remove from the plastic windshield.

WARNING: DO NOT EVER USE REGULAR CAR OR HOME TINTING ON PLASTIC.

Cleaning and Care for Shade Band on a Golf Cart

Golf cart Shade Bands should be cleaned with a very mild soap and a clean microfiber cloth. Use a clean 1-quart spray bottle, fill with water and add no more than 10 drops of a liquid dish-washing soap. Shake the bottle and spray the cloth lightly. Wipe gently in a horizontal motion.

NEVER use a paper towel or an ammonia-based product to clean a Shade Band or a plastic golf cart windshield.
